The Burlington County Times and
your local McDonald's Restaurants have partnered for a great cause, the
Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey (SNJ) and their planned Family
Room in Mount Holly.
Ronald McDonald House of SNJ provides uplifting home-like settings in the
form of houses or rooms that offer comfort
and support to families of children receiving medical treatment in pediatric
units, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive
Care
Unit (NICU) or emergency departments. These facilities provide family room
environments, complimentary snacks and beverages, computer stations,
kitchenettes and play areas. Comfortable places for parents, siblings and extended
family members to rest or relax while still remaining close to their
hospitalized child.
Plans are underway to create a
Ronald McDonald House Family Room in the NICU of Virtua Memorial in Mt.
Holly. This room
would be a welcome respite for parents during those early worry-filled days
with their tiny newborns. This Family Room is part of Ronald McDonald House
of SNJ's commitment to expand their services to families of seriously ill
and injured children throughout the nine southern counties of New Jersey.
Six family rooms are already being utilized thanks
to partnerships like this and generous donations. They are located in AtlantiCare
Medical in Pomona, Shore Memorial in Somers Point, Kennedy Hospital in
Washington Township, SJ Healthcare regional in Vineland, Virtua Health in
Voorhees, Cooper University in Camden and soon
Virtua Memorial in our very own Mt. Holly!

believe in giving back to the community and we would like you to
